Evaluating the angular resolution of a simulated light field display in regards to three-dimensionality, motion parallax and viewing experience

This paper investigates how the angular resolution of a simulated light field display affects viewing experience 3D rendered scene. The effect three-dimensionality, helpfulness motion parallax, and overall are evaluated by mean quantitative user study. A total 32 results recorded evaluated. quality metrics show logarithmic trend, improving with an increasing number views. plateau at 0.25° per view can be found in two three questions. Moreover, participants preferred conventional 2D-display over displays more than 0.5° (less 360 views 180° FOV). shows, that have to certain minimum create pleasant experience.
